After Colorado's 36-14 win over Nebraska on Saturday in Boulder, Buffaloes quarterback Shedder Sanders, said he felt "extreme disregard" from the Nebraska program, including head coach Matt Rhule.
Before the game, Rhule gathered his team at midfield and the players stood on the Colorado logo. Sanders did not take kindly to that, telling reporters that he "got in there and interfered."
"It was extremely personal. I went out there to warm up and the head coach of the other team was trying to stand in the middle of the buff. I don't mind if some of the players do that, but if the whole team tries to downplay it, I don't agree with that at all."Saunders said. 'I went out there and made a mess of it. The Buffaloes are an important team to me. That's when I knew it was extreme disrespect."
Rhule said Monday that he always gathered his team at midfield for a pre-game prayer and had no disrespectful intentions behind it.
"I do that in every stadium,"Rhule said, and "I always have a prayer with Shedur. 'I asked Shedur if he wanted to pray with us. We just take moments as a team. I want that field to be safe for everyone."

Rhule, in his first year at Nebraska, just as Sanders is in his first year at Colorado, talked about different ways to rebuild the program during the offseason, including mentoring players he inherited from the previous coaching staff. Sanders received a ton of attention for his extreme roster turnover at Colorado State, including adding more than 80 new players to the program, many via transfer portals. Rhule tackled a much different task.
"Coach said a lot about my pops, about the program. But now he wants to act good," said Shedder Sanders. 'I don't respect that because you hate other people. You shouldn't do that. So my respect for them and their program is gone."
At his Monday press conference, Rhule said he "never disrespected the other person." | to be able to you really come across that you can do it, in fact i promise with my partner, anyone can quickly forget about just how seemingly exactly {} these seemingly disregarded people.
"I lead this team with class. I held that person's hand. I have never disrespected my opponents and I never will," Roure said.
