The Ramshave one of the youngest teams in the NFL, just beginning to move on from last season's dismal fall from Super Bowl champion to runner-up.
But it was their oldest player, quarterback Matthew Stafford, who produced a fascinating30-13 upset of the Seahawksat a raucous Lumen Field on Sunday. On this day,
Stafford was seven months past his 35th birthday and playing his first game since his seasonended last November 20 with a spinal contusion, but without the injured Cooper Kupp
the receiving corps was sharp, effective and quickly adapted.
Surprisingly well protected by an offensive line formed late in the preseason, Stafford completed 24 of 38 pass attempts for 334 yards. It was his first 300 yard game since he had 308 yards against Dallas last October 9, and his best since throwing for 337 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game on January 30, 2022.
It was the eighth time in his 15th NFL season opener that he has had a 300 yard game, tying Matt Ryan with Drew Brees (10).
